| THE SUPERVISED APARTMENT
PROGRAM
An Independent Living Program
The Supervised Apartment Program can be a transitional
living step or permanent housing for graduates of
the Residential Living Center. Residents of this
program have increased knowledge in managing their
illness and have improved psychiatric stability.
This program offers residents more spacious accommodations,
and the opportunity and responsibility of greater
independence.
Staff supports, are more limited than in the Residential
Living Center (group home), and are focused on residents’
practicing independent living skills, including:
self-care, cooking, cleaning, money management,
leisure time planning etc. Residents may also work
on accepting greater responsibility for self-medication.
Supervised Apartment residents generally have a
commitment of work, school or volunteerism outside
of the program.
